In November 2002 in Bournemouth, on the south coast of England, Heather Barnett, a single mother of two teenagers, was found at home on the floor, covered in blood, horribly mutilated.<\/p>\n

On the day of her disappearance, Elisa Claps had an appointment with Danilo Restivo, a little older than her, right in the church where her body was later found. Danilo Restivo Was Also Heather Barnett’s Neighbor, And The English Police Soon Pinned Their Suspicions On Him.<\/p>\n

Gildo is Elisa’s older brother. He was 24 years old at the time of his sister’s disappearance. He Dedicated His Life To Searching For The Truth About Elisa’s Case. He founded Penelope, the Association of Families of Missing Persons.<\/p>

Filomena Claps is played by Anna Ferruzzo.<\/strong><\/p>

Filomena is Elisa’s mother. Over the course of the story she transforms from a “normal” mother of a family into a lioness in search of the truth.<\/p>

Irene Nardiello is played by Rosa Diletta Rossi.<\/strong><\/p>

Irene is Gildo’s girlfriend, then wife, with whom he shares every moment of the affair. In the time span of the series, Irene and Gildo become parents of a little girl.<\/p>

Antonio Claps is played by Vincenzo Ferrera.<\/strong><\/p>

Elisa’s brothers, Gildo and Luciano, together with Gildo’s friends and girlfriend, Irene, search for her everywhere in vain. Elisa’s mother, Filomena, has a conversation with Don Mimi’, the parish priest of the Church of the Holy Trinity, who claims not to have noticed anything particular on the day of the girl’s disappearance. Gildo discovers, by reading his sister’s secret diary, that she had been followed several times by Danilo. Gildo pressures the public prosecutor in charge of the case, finding the police inspector Eufemia as his only ally. The investigations highlight the inconsistencies in the declarations of Danilo, who is arrested and tried for false declarations. But the absence of Elisa’s body does not allow the accusation to be taken further. The investigations are closed. Gildo, defeated and frustrated, leaves his girlfriend Irene. Meanwhile, the Claps case is transferred to the Salerno prosecutor’s office, but the lack of Elisa’s body continues to be the strongest obstacle to the investigations. Gildo is exhausted, he has a bad motorbike accident, but it opens his eyes. He runs to Irene and asks her to marry him. Some more time has passed, but – despite the quantity of clues – the English police are unable to frame Danilo. On March 17, 2010, a body was found in the attic of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Potenza: it was that of Elisa Claps, who remained incredibly for 17 long years in that place where work and inspections had been carried out over time. The examination of Elisa’s remains, in addition to the thousand clues and the murderer’s operating methods, represent the turning point and Danilo Restivo is convicted. In Potenza, Elisa’s funeral takes place in a large square of the city.
